Monika Sharma is the heart and driving force behind SUGAM NGO. A passionate educator and community champion, Monika has dedicated the last 14 years to ensuring that every child—regardless of their background—has access to education, dignity, and opportunity. Her journey began in 2011, when she walked through the narrow lanes of Moti Vihar, an urban village in Gurugram. There, she saw children ragpicking, working in shop basements, or roaming the streets without safety, purpose, or hope. Deeply moved, she made a promise: no child should be denied a future simply because they were born into hardship.
Monika started with three children under a tree. Her quiet determination soon drew more children, then families, then the entire community. What began as a small, informal learning space has now grown into a full-fledged initiative that provides free education and holistic development to 500+ children from migrant and underserved communities. Under her leadership, SUGAM NGO has become a safe haven—where children receive education, nutrition, emotional support, and the encouragement to dream big. Her belief in nurturing the whole child has shaped SUGAM’s unique model that integrates academics with arts, life skills, counseling, and career pathways.
Monika’s work has not only transformed lives; it has restored hope, dignity, and aspiration across an entire community. Parents trust her. Children adore her. Volunteers and donors draw inspiration from her purpose and persistence.
